Set Link has said that it has started providing internet service to Hulhumeedhoo. Set Link which had been previously providing Cable TV service to the island.
Managing Director of Set Link Hussain Mahid said that the company had started its internet services from the 15th of this month to hulhudhoo and meedhoo and that the service will be free till the beginning of next month.
“We have started the services from the 15th of this month, and we will be providing the service for free till the beginning of next month as we are testing the service, but from next month onwards charges will be levied” he said.
Set Link also stated that the internet services they provided were with the assistance of Wataniya. Set Link is set to charge a fee of RF 400 for every connection.
“Internet customers will get cable TV services as well, but those who do not wish to have cable TV will have other options too. Our services are very popular in the island and our customers are increasing by the day” he added.
Set Link aims to continue to provide its services to other islands of Addu in the near future by introducing wireless connections. The company operating with 40 cable TV channels is currently working on the preparations of the project.
