Valencia’s talented Asad Abdul Ghanee will be off the active roster for a full three weeks due to an injury, the club has said.

Asad, who remained benched during Valencia’s 0-5 defeat against Vietnam’s Bindoung in the AFC Cup match on Tuesday, said that a serious thigh injury was the reason he had remained off the pitch.

According to the National Football team’s physician, Ahmed Shakeeb, Asad had made the injury worse when he played in Valencia’s Wataniya Dhivehi League match against VB.

“There is a big laceration in his thigh muscles,” Shakeeb said. “There is even some bleeding. He will have to stay away for at least three weeks, there’s no alternative. He made the injury worse by playing while he was injured.”

Asad, who had even been captain of the Valencia team once, is one of the most important midfield players.
