22 suspects arrested in special operation: Police

Twenty-two suspects, allegedly linked to gang violence have been arrested in the special operation initiated on Monday, Police confirmed.

Sub-Inspector Ahmed Shiyam said while 22 suspects, including three minors were apprehended, the Police also raided street corners frequented by suspected gangsters, confiscating weapons and other items, allegedly used for gang violence.

He also revealed that one man who interfered with the Police from carrying out the operation was apprehended Friday night, adding that the operation would continue until gang violence is resolved in the capital Male.
