The video shows CSC secretary general Abdulla Haleel dealing the activists on behalf of the commission.
It shows activists saying “we won’t speak with respect” and “don’t you know who we’re” when Haleel requested to be calm.
They also shouted “where is the rights of the 300,000 citizens” criticising the commission’s decision to raise pay.
CSC decided to give continue the earlier pay starting from January explaining the “special condition” has been settled after three months, a decision which is criticised by the finance ministry.
Finance ministry is demanding to continue the reduced pay.
Speaking to Haveeru Daily on Wednesday, Haleel said the activists have shown disobedience and aggression.
“They have communicated the employees in a very terrible manner,” he said. “When they started shouting, I even tried to meet them inviting to the meeting room to discuss the issue. But they refused to. So we informed to police. They asked whether the commission has to secure the rights of the 30,000 civil servants questioning on the rights of the 300,000 citizens. They accused the commission raised the pay to disrupt the work of the government.”
He said there were nine activists in the group, adding four activists have cooperated with the commission.
“Around four activists behaved violently,” he said. “I was informed later that they waited outside the building.”
Journalists from Haveeru Daily had witnessed earlier the activists roaming around the finance ministry and left the area warning that they are going to the commission.
