Mohamed Zuhair, press secretary said Abdulla Luthfee and Ahmed Nasir (Sagaru Nasir) were transferred to house arrest a year ago.
Although they are under house arrest, said Zuhair, the President’s Office has received complaints that Nasir has been seen in the capital Male’ adding the reports have been notified to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“Three times we have informed to the ministry,” he said. “At last we informed two months ago.”
19 Maldivians died in 1988 coup attempt, organised by a group of Maldivians and Tamil mercenaries.
Excluding Luthfee and Nasir, rest of the convicts were pardoned.

A spokesman from the President’s Office said on Sunday, two convicts sentenced to life imprisonment for 3 November 1988 coup attempt were transferred to house arrest for medical reasons.
