Attorney General Husnu Suood was appointed as the President of the Board. Other members of the Board include, Mariyam Suzee from social sector, Nazil Afeef from legal sector, Shifa Mohamed from education sector and Dr Ahmed Razee from health sector.
In addition, Sheikh Mohamed Farooq from religious studies, Maizaan Ali Maniku from civil societies, Ahmed Adil from Parole Board, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Sodiq Hussain Shameem from judiciary, and MP of Galolhu-North Ahmed Mahloof from parliament, were also appointed to the Board.
Clemency Board’s mandate is to advise the President.

President Mohamed Nasheed, in accordance with Article 9 of the Clemency Act, has instituted the Clemency Board.
