MALE, October 28 (HNS) – A climate change summit aimed at South Asian youth began on Thursday in Colombo.

The three-day “South Asian Youth Summit on Climate Change” is organised by the regional network of South Asian climate organisations.

Local NGO, Maldivian Youth Climate Network (MYCN) represents Maldives at the conference.

MYCN Co-founder Aisha Niyaz said the discussion would be focused on climate change issues in the region.

“This is a cooperative step against the various climate change issues faced by South Asia. Maldives will also benefit from the conference as information and experience will be shared by the youth,” she said.

Last year’s conference, which Maldives also attended, was held in Nepal.
