Why should I register with Haveeru Online?

Registered users will get their own unique user name for Haveeru Online. If you do not register with your unique id, someone else might take it. Registered users will have own Profile Page, can Follow other users, bookmark news items. All the comments made by a user can also be viewed from the Profile Page. More interactive features will also be made available to registered users through MyHaveeru profile page.


How can I register with Haveeru Online?

You can register with Haveeru Online using your Facebook account login or by filling out a simple form.


How does the Facebook login work?

When you click on the Sign In link on the upper left corner of Haveeru Online homepage you would be given two options – Connect with Facebook or Haveeru Online Account -- to login. When you click on the Connect with Facebook you will be prompted to enter Facebook login details. Once you enter the details and sign into Facebook you will also be logged into Haveeru Online.


Sending media content

How can I send photos and videos to Haveeru Online?

Photos and Videos can be sent to Haveeru Online as an MMS. Both Dhiraagu and Wataniyya customers can send MMS to 2323, which is the short code for Haveeru Online. Alternatively photos, videos or any other media (such as documents) can be emailed to news@haveeru.com.mv.


Haveeru Online Badges

What are the Haveeru Online Badges?

At present we have Comments Badges, User Badges, and a badge awarded to outstanding comments by Haveeru Online editors.


What are Comments Badges?

There are four levels of Comments Badges – 10 Comments, 25 Comments, 50 Comments and 100 Comments. Users can unlock Comments Badges when the number of comments published reaches above those levels.


How can I get an Editors’ Pick Badge?

The Editors’ Pick Badge (Editor gevana in Dhivehi) is awarded by editors for outstanding comments from Haveeru Online users. Comments that strictly comply with Comments Guidelines, and are objective, fair and informative have higher chance of attracting the Editors’ Pick Badge.


What are the User Badges?

Haveeru Online users can give two User Badges – Fakka and Salhi – to comments made by other users of Haveeru Online.


How many times can I give User Badges?

Every day you will get two User Badges to give away. This means you can only give a Fakka Badge and Salhi Badge, each, twice a day.


Are there any other Badges?

We will be introducing more Badges that will be more challenging to unlock.


Will users be rewarded for unlocking Badges?

At present we do not reward users financially or give away gifts for unlocking or getting Badges. However, in the future with more challenging Badges and user participation in through MyHaveeru we would be rolling out rewards.


Comments

How do I comment to Haveeru Online articles?

Users can comment to most of the articles that are published in Haveeru Online. Users do not have to be registered to send in comments. Even registered users can send in comments anonymously. But we encourage users to register and comment using their Haveeru Online or Facebook user id.


Will comments I submit be counted towards my comments contribution for Badges?

Comments sent to Haveeru Online anonymously by registered users will not be counted towards the total comments a user makes. For comments to be counted users should not hide their identity when making comments.


How long will it take for comments to be published?

Most of the comments sent to Haveeru Online are moderated. During the working hours and at times of major new events we try to approve comments as soon as we get.


Why are some comments not published?

It is probably because Comments Guidelines have not been followed. We cannot publish any comment that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane or offensive; is threatening, harassing; promotes or encourages violence; is inaccurate, false or misleading in any way.
