President inaugurates MNDF military hospital

President Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has unofficially inaugurated the military hospital which had been constructed by the Maldives National Defence Force with the aid of the Indian government.

The hospital is located in the building which formerly housed the Voice of Maldives (VOM) radio station. The hospital will provide services to the employees of MNDF, the Police and their family members. MNDF revealed that the hospital will be officially inaugurated soon.

President Waheed was greeted at the hospital by Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam and the Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed.

The President had viewed a presentation on the hospital and examined the wards, private rooms, laboratories, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), x-ray room and the ambulance.
