Police active on a scene of an assault: Relevant authorities have expressed concern over the escalation of murder, stabbing attacks and assault recently
A young man was injured after being stabbed in the stomach this morning near the Machchangoalhi cemetery.
Police revealed that the victim, 18 year old Hassan Shafeeg of Sunny Side Alif dhaal Atoll Maamigili was attacked by a group around 6.15 this morning.
Though no arrests have been made thus far, Police are investigating the incident.
Last night a foreign expatriate was injured in a similar stabbing attack last night. Two people had been taken into custody by the Police in relation to the attack.
Relevant authorities have expressed concern over the escalation of murder, stabbing attacks and assault recently. To that end, in the sit-down held yesterday by the relevant government authorities it was decided to take immediate measures to curb the increased serious crimes.
