Suspect in Adam's murder brought to Male

Primary suspect arrested in relation to the murder of Lance Corporal Adam Haleem has been brought to Male for further investigations.

Mohamed Samah, 22 of Kaafu Atoll Kaashidhoo Suvaasaage is accused of the murder of Adam of the islands’ Kethi.

Though Samah has been brought to Male, Police are yet to disclose details of the case. However, Haveeru has learned that the court had extended his detention by another 15 days.

Officials of Kaashidhoo council have said that Samah had an extensive criminal record including various cases of drug abuse, assault, robbery and theft. It is known that Samah had attacked Adam on the same day he was transferred under house arrest after being in police custody over another assault.

Local residents say that Samah had stabbed Adam while he was calling in Samah’s violation after seeing the repeat offender on the road while under house arrest.

While Adam’s funeral was held at the Islamic Centre, he was buried in Galolhu cemetery in full police honor yesterday.
