A man who threatened to kill two Policemen has been arrested in Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru. It was revealed from the Dhuvaafaru Police Station that the two Policemen were threatened by Ismail Ibrahim of Raa Atoll Kandholhudhoo, Hudhuhudhaage.
It was revealed that the man who has previous criminal record threatened the two Policemen who were patrolling the island when they stopped him for inspection following a tip-off that he is involved in the drug trade. It was also revealed that a few other people are also involved with him in the ring.
Threats against the Police are being taken very seriously following the murder of Police Lance Corporal Adam Haleem and an agreement has also been made in Raa atoll Ungoofaaru to stop anyone who might resort to harassment and threats against the Police.
Threatening a person to cause physical and emotional harm or to threaten to hurt a person’s family or hurt someone under your guardianship is illegal and a crime under the “Act forbidding threatening, possession of dangerous and sharp weapons.”
