Police this morning under a Criminal Court order have confiscated some photographs at the Usfasgandu area used by opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) for its political activities.

Police had taken the photographs with the wooden boards where they were pasted.
The Criminal Court order attached at Usfasgandu read that the Police had requested for a search warrant after the boards at the area had been used to post various threats of bodily harm and obscenities directed towards Lance Corporal Hussain Ageel and his family. The warrant issued at 10.15 last night had given the police six hours to complete the search.

Two people had been arrested from the Usfasgandu area as the Police were conducting the search. Police detailed that one of the men arrested was wanted in relation to another offence while the other had been taken into custody for obstructing the duties of the Police.
