Police have apprehended two women attempting to smuggle drugs into the country on Sunday evening.
Police revealed that the two 21-year-old Maldivian women who had arrived in the country via a Maldivian Airline flight at 6:55pm had attempted to smuggle drugs in by packing it in condoms.
During the screening of the two women, a packed condom stuffed with substance believed to be drugs were found hidden on her body. Further description reveals that the one condom had been filled with assumed narcotics and had been put into two more condoms one over the other and taped all over.
Police revealed that the operation had been carried out in cooperation with Customs following a tip off from Police intelligence.
