Bobby's half sister asks for the death penalty

An heir of Abdul 'Bobby' Muheeth of Galolhu Veyru, Male, who had been murdered during February this year has asked for capital punishment to be implemented on his murderers.

The State has filed charges against Muhujath Ahmed Nasih of Abulagyge Gaaf Dhaal atoll Gahdhoo, Ali Mushahfau of Sultan Villa Seenu Atoll Maradhoo and Mohamed Maimoon of Zaithoonige Lhaviyani Atoll Naifaru.

During the audio conference held at today’s hearing, a half sister of Muheeth said that she wanted capital punishment to be implemented for Muheeth’s death. The Judge presiding over the case also asked the family several questions including if whether Muheeth had a wife or children and was informed that he did not have a wife or children. Questions were also asked regarding Muheeth’s parents.

The statement of just one heir was taken at today’s hearing, while the statements of witnesses presented by the State were taken at a prior hearing. Analysis of the video footage and phone call recordings remain.

The State has also filed charges against three minors for Muheeth’s murder at the Juvenile Court in the trial of which taking witness testimonies are almost over.
