MP Siyam could be prosecuted over alcohol found in his luggage

A case has been sent to the Prosecutor General's (PG) Office regarding the discovery of a bottle of alcohol in the luggage of Meedhoo constituency MP and prominent business man Ahmed Siyam Mohamed for prosecution.

Haveeru has learned that the bottle was found in Siyam’s luggage while it was being screened at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) on his return from a trip on March 31, and the case was sent by the Police after concluding investigations to the PG on August 8.

An official from the PG Office confirmed that the case has been received but that a decision is yet to be made to prosecute Siyam .

Siyam is currently attempting to create a political party called the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).
