Debris suspected to be wing fragments of an aircraft washed up in Gili Lankanfushi resort early Tuesday.
Haveeru has found that information about the washed up debris has been shared with Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The resort was unwilling to provide more details of the find as the MNDF was investigating.
At first glance of the photos shared by the resort, the wing fragments appear to be from a fighter jet. The photos of the debris also showed some serial numbers on the parts.
In August, days after a wing fragment found in Reunion Island was confirmed as part of the flaperon of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, employees of Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru had come forward claiming that suspected debris from a plane had washed up on the beach.
More islands of the archipelago had reported sightings of debris after the Vabbinfaru resort claims.
However, a Malaysian civil aviation team dispatched to the Maldives to inspect the debris had said most of them were not related to the missing plane.
The Malaysia Airlines jet disappeared on March 8 last year when it inexplicably veered off course en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board, and a colossal multinational hunt for the aircraft proved fruitless.
