Six men prosecuted over Shifan's murder

The Prosecutor General's (PG) office has sent the cases of six people suspected in the murder of Ali 'Tholhi Pele' Shifan, 33 of Maafannun Fairy Corner who was stabbed to death in April, to the criminal court.

Prosecutor General's office official stated that the case had been sent to court last week. Official revealed that the people accused over Shifan’s murder are Mohamed Asif, 19 of Lhaviyani Atoll Kurendhoo, Mohamed Saifan, 18 of Male registry 2193, Ali Nabeeh, 22 of Maafannu Nalahiyaa Manzil, Razzan Abdul Rahman, 19 of Baa Atoll Thulhaadhoo Kaanimaage, Abdulla Thilmeez, 20 of Maafannu Dhimmana and Mohamed Mishan Abdul Haadhy, 20 of Maafannu Silver net. Official added that all of them were facing charges for murder in the first degree.

The cases of these six men had earlier been forwarded to the PG by the police after investigation. PG official stated that the hearings of the case are expected to commence soon.

Shifan had been stabbed multiple times in the back and arms by two men on a GN motor bike near West Park restaurant as he stepped out to meet a friend in April.
