Qatar airways become the exclusive sponsor of Haveeru daily's AFC Challenge cup coverage, which will start next Thursday in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Haveeru Sports journalist Hassan Shifan and Sports photographer Mohamed Waheed arrived in Kathmandu last night for the special coverage.
Haveeru will bring tournament news, information of players and teams and exclusive interviews along with action photos.
A special page has been launched in its online edition dedicated for the latest news, photos and videos of the tournament. The page has been designed to display the tweets sent in pertaining to the tournament.
Haveeru officials have expressed delight over Qatar airways partnership with Haveeru for the coverage.
“Qatar airways play a vital role in our aviation industry. We are happy the we can bring special coverage with their assistance,” one of the senior editors of Haveeru said.
Qatar Airways, named Airline of the Year 2011 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards had previously sponsored various sports events.
Haveeru has covered all major tournaments which our National football team competed from 1991. It includes 1991, 1993, 2006, and 2010 South Asian Games and all the SAFF Championships. And also Haveeru is the only media who covered 1997, 1999, 2003 and 2005 SAFF Championship from abroad.
The 2012 AFC Challenge Cup will be the fourth edition of the tournament which will take place in Nepal from 8–19 March 2012. The winners will qualify for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. Maldives, Turkmenistan, Palestine and Nepal are in Group A while India, North Korea, Philippines and Tajikistan.are in group B.
