1 individual has died and four people are injured right after a crane collapsed on to residences and a block of flats which ended up becoming built in London.

The 20m (65ft) crane crashed on to the enhancement and two terrace properties in Compton Close, Bow, just before 14:40 BST.

DJ Munro, who lives nearby, states he listened to “the steel of the crane crushing in opposition to the scaffolding and then the wood crushing in the residence”.

A video clip posted on social media confirmed a terrace home with section of the roof collapsed.

Eyewitness Bridget Teirney stated she believed the crane driver had escaped securely.

London Ambulance Support tweeted to say it had “a variety of crews and expert sources” at the scene.

LFB assistant commissioner Graham Ellis claimed securing the residence would be a “elaborate rescue operation”.

Mr Ellis said: “Our City Research and Rescue crews are endeavor a complicated rescue procedure and applying expert products to lookup the attributes.”

The hearth provider has “deployed a drone to offer aerial imagery to help with the rescue”.

The crane that collapsed was currently being made use of by Swan Housing Affiliation and NU living at the time.

A spokeswoman for Swan Housing Association and NU residing said they were “mindful of an incident that happened at our Watts Grove enhancement site in Tower Hamlets, east London, this afternoon”.
