The Pittsburgh Steels are now in a short week following Wednesday’s home win against the Baltimore Ravens as they need to get ready quickly to play the Washington football team at home on Monday night. Stevens will obviously not be linebacker Butt Dupree for that match or the rest of the season because he will be on his knees against the Ravens in the ACL. The Steelers head coach on Thursday confirmed that Dupree is actually out of season.
“You can officially categorize Butt out of the year with a knee injury,” Tomlin said.
Tomlin said he is not yet sure when he will have surgery to repair his knee later.
Unfortunately, Dupleix was not the only Steelers defender injured on Wednesday, and on Thursday Tomlin announced that cornerback Steven Nelson also needed an in-depth examination for some sort of knee injury.
“We’ve got some other bumps and injuries related to the game,” Tomlin said Thursday. “We are still evaluating it. I know Steve Nelson went for an MRI or something on his knee. Obviously he was able to finish the game, but it’s something to watch today. I can provide you with quality information that I’m sure of tomorrow. “
Nelson actually finished Wednesday’s game against the Ravens, so let’s wait and see if his knee injury is serious in nature.
Tomlin did not provide much of an update, including the players currently on the team’s Reserve / Covit-19 list and the central Morkis bounce that was placed on it on Wednesday.
“When Marquis comes back to us, he will come back to us,” Tomlin said.
Other players who are still bouncing on that list are running back James Connor, tackling Gerald Hawkins and defensive end Stephen Dude.
